E-Toll Calculator

Welcome to the e-toll calculator which will assist you to estimate your likely toll cost to travel on the toll roads included in the GFIP Project (Gauteng e-roads).

The blue highlighted road links on the map are included in the GFIP Project (Gauteng e-roads).The e-toll calculator consists of four Steps numbered “1” to “4” in the top left-hand corner. Each Step will require you to submit some details of your planned trip on the Gauteng e-roads.

The calculator will assist you to determine which Tolling Points you will be passing with trips on the Gauteng e-roads, what the cost per Tolling Point is, and for which discounts you can qualify. The e-toll calculator is aimed at registered and unregistered users of the Gauteng e-road. The following discounts are offered as part of the GFIP Tolling Scheme: time of day discount, frequent user discount and public transport discount (conditions apply). The time of day discount and frequent user discount is only available to registered users, while time of day discount also applies to unregistered users paying within the 7-day grace period. All discounts are applied to the standard toll tariff per gantry.

STEP 1: This page requires you to input the interchange where your trip will enter the e-road network (“from”) to where it will exit the network (“to”) by means of the dropdown lists provided, or by right-clicking your mouse on the map. You can select an intermediate interchange (“via”) in case you are not taking the typical route between the entering and exiting interchange. This Step allows you to also include the cost of the return trip into the calculation by selecting “back”, as well as an intermediate interchange for the return trip (“via”).

The fields marked with an asterisk “*” are compulsory.

Click on “Next” if you have completed all the necessary information. The map will only show you the selected road sections which will be included in the calculation in the next step (STEP 2).

STEP 2: This page requires you to input the type of vehicle you will use on this trip. The map shows the road links which will be used in the toll calculations with an orange-coloured highlight. You can also select if you are a registered user or an unregistered user. An unregistered user is regarded as a registered user if the toll charge is settled within the grace period. You can get exemption from toll on the Gauteng e-roads if you are registered as a valid public transport vehicle - Conditions apply. "I am driving;
a	motorcycle	The Motorcycle Class (Class A1) will allow for typical motorcycles without sidecars or unusual attachments. A Motorcycle will be regarded as a vehicle with a length less than 3,0m, width less than 1,3m and height less than 2,5m.
or	light vehicle	The Light Vehicle Class (Class A2) will allow for typical light vehicles, passenger cars, bakkies, and small delivery vehicles. A Light Vehicle will be regarded as a vehicle with a length less than 6,0m and height less than 2,5m. As long as the towing vehicle is within these dimensions, a vehicle may tow a trailer or caravan with a tow bar and still qualify as a Light Vehicle. The gross vehicle mass (GVM) of the trailer or caravan must be less than 3.5 tons.
or	small heavy vehicle	The Small Heavy Vehicle Class (Class B) will allow for typical medium size delivery vehicles and trucks. A Small Heavy Vehicle will be regarded as a vehicle with a length less than 12,5m and height more than 2,5m. Unlike Light Vehicles, the total length of the vehicle, including the trailer(s), are used to determine the length.
or	large heavy vehicle	The Large Heavy Vehicle Class (Class C) will allow for typical large size delivery vehicles and trucks. A Large Heavy Vehicle will be regarded as a vehicle with a length more than 12,5m and/or height more than 2,5m.Unlike Light Vehicles, the total length of the vehicle, including the trailer(s), are used to determine the length.

Registered User		Registered User - Select this option if you have an account with SANRAL (such as an e-tag) or if you will pay your e-toll account within the 7-day grace period.

Unregistered User		Unregistered User - Select this option if you haven't registered an account and will not pay your e-toll account within the 7-day grace period.


Public Transport Vehicle ?
